  1 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 egg (well beaten) 2 tsp. shortening ¼ tsp. salt ¼ c. sugar 1/3 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla   Mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Combine egg, milk and melted shortening and add to dry ingredients. Mix till batter is smooth. This is a stiff batter and makes a crisp fritter. Use 2 apples. To deep fry fritters: Pare and core 2 large apples. Cut into ½ inch slices. Dip in batter, drain off excess and fry in hot oil for a few minutes. Use 1 tsp. baking powder and ½-2/3 c. milk.   2 2/3 c. flour 3 tsp. baking powder ½ tsp. salt 2/3 c. Crisco ½ c. milk   Mix together all ingredients adding milk last. Roll out enough to put 1 cored and peeled apple in. Put a little sugar in the hole made by taking out the core. Put a drop of butter on top. Wrap the dough around the apple and sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon on top.   2 ¾ to 3 ¼ c. flour ¼ c. sugar ¾ tsp. salt 1/3 c. brown sugar 1 package active dry yeast ¼ c. softened margarine ¾ c. very hot tap water 1 egg at room temperature   In a large bowl, thoroughly mix 1 c. of the flour, the sugar, salt and undesolved yeast. Add softened margarine. Gradually add very hot tap water to dry ingredients and beat 2 minutes at medium speed on mixer, scraping bowl occasionally. Add egg & ¼ c. flour.   1 medium jar or can tomato juice 1 pound hamburger 7 oz. box (small box) macaroni Small onion chopped in blender Sugar   Sprinkle bottom of pan with salt first and brown hamburger in pan. Drain off the excess grease. Cook macaroni according to directions using minimum cooking time. Add macaroni and chopped onion to cooked hamburger. Add tomato juice until it looks like enough.
